Space Out into Jen Kao’s Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
11 Feb
Given that a blizzard hit most of the east coast yesterday, I can’t say that I dared to start up my fashion week adventures until today. Heading over to MAC at Milk Studios in the Chelsea area, I was excited to see the Fall/Winter 2010 collection for Jen Kao whose designs dazzled audiences last season.
Stunning onlookers yet again, Kao presents a wide variety of pieces with a similar space-age/futuristic feel. Greeting her guests with warmth, the first looks that walk down the runway strut in coffee-colored knits that have intricately woven patterns and holes cut out in certain places to add a touch of modernity. To assure her guests that her pieces won’t leave you feeling the cold drafts of wind, Kao shows off her furs, which are paired with leather, and contrasted with sheer. The color palette is gorgeous with dark greens, maroons, and blacks.
The must-have look, of course, is the last dress, which leaves a long trail of sheer and dazzles with its leather bodice. You would think that the two would be too different for one another, but Kao finds a way to make the pairing perfect.
Here are some snapshots that I took with my BlackBerry below:
