When I walk to school, I always walk past this building that appears to be a chic clothing store, when in fact, it is an exclusive gym for the trendy folks of New York (and other cities too). I got a peek into the gym last Monday when I decided not to move my flight home earlier and instead attend the 8th annual DavidBartonGym hosted toy drive at the Astor Place location.

Co-hosted by many big names, such as Marc Jacobs, Narcisco Rodriguez, and Susan Sarandon, guests were rewarded for their good deed of bringing a toy, which will be donated to children’s hospitals of NYC, with hot remixes and an open bar of delicious cocktails. I absolutely loved sipping my drinks and having seeing the fabulous costumes that some people were wearing, and the excited look on some people who had just had their picture taken with Marc Jacobs.

Each guest also received limited membership (of up to one month) to the gym; somehow, I wound up with three at the end of the night. But trust me, this gym is a visual treat – it does have the appearance of a YMCA but for those wanting to break out a sweat in style.

I know 2010 is going to be a great year. In fact, I can tell you that January is going to fabulous. Why? Well, season 7 of Project Runway will be airing in mid January, and instead of focusing in on the group at FIDM in Los Angeles, the show will be set in New York again! Be sure to catch the season premiere on January 14th on Lifetime at 10/9C.
