Unexpectedly Stumbled on the Tour de France
26 Jul
I may play sports but I am not certainly not big on following them. I was coming back from “Les Marins Font La Mode,” which I will write about later, at the Musée de la Marine and decided to treat myself to some Pierre Hermé macarons.
The huge crowd that surrounded the Champs-Élysées peaked my curiosity as I got out of the metro station. Apparently, it was the final stage of the Tour de France. So after waiting for two hours outside in 29˚C weather and gaining a horrible sunglasses tan, I got to watch the cyclists make the trip from Concorde to the Champs-Élysées all eight times and snapped up some pictures. Oh, and I did learn another cyclists’ name aside from Lance Armstrong: the winner of this stage, Mark Cavendish!

Tour de France: Eighth and last time around the Champs-Élysées turn, and Cavendish is in the lead

Tour de France: Some fellow is trying to be Spiderman to get a better view
