Toast to Toronto’s 2009 Drinks Show!

Being nineteen is a great age in Canada; you can do just about anything except for rent a car (which isn’t a concern if you have access to your own car, well that and the fact that our transit system works quite well). Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending Toronto’s Drinks Show at Polson Pier (which also houses the club, The Docks).

So what is the Drinks Show exactly? Well, it’s just an exhibition where you can purchase small samplers (or full sized drinks) of cocktails. Basically you pay $2 per little cup to sample a liqueur, whiskey, vodka, or whatever else they’re serving mixed in with juices, sodas, or fruits. Walking in, you’re given one ticket for a sample of your choice and one ticket for one of the feature hosts’, Dove Chocolate, drink – Vodka 360 with shaved Dove Chocolate.

Crowd was great for the show, ranging from 20 up to 35. However, the after party held at The Docks was a big miss. Perhaps if I stayed a little longer, the music and the crowd (most of the chic ones presumably left to go to a more hip lounge/club) would’ve improved.

But hey, would I go again next year? Of course!
