Spotted: Winner of Inaugural Season of Project Runway Canada, Evan Biddell

Wrapping up my last week in Toronto before I go back to school in Paris, I figured that I might as well try out some restaurants/cafés. Fancying JA Eats Toronto on Facebook, I took one of their suggestions and headed with my good friend to School Bakery and Café (yes, this café does carry the theme of a high school setting) in Liberty Village (King West) in Toronto.

The day was decent, so the patio was open. Sitting right in the front was the winner of the first season of Project Runway Canada, Evan Biddell. His winning collection that showed during Toronto Fashion Week was brilliant – Superhero theme (how can it get any better and edgier?). He wouldn’t give away any details of the next collection, but he did agree to a picture!

The café itself had a great atmosphere, but the food took over an hour to serve, and even then, they got the orders wrong. The food was good, though, and the price was decent (~$13 per plate). For those who are familiar with Paris’ Rose Bakery, it has a similar atmosphere, but lacks the great execution that Rose has with regards to their food.
